[OH NOOOOOO SHE SAID A NICE THING. Even worse, now that they're simply holding hands, he has the freedom to actually, literally do a little skip of joy. There's no way this can go wrong if he has such a nice employee, he's sure of it. The future is lookin' up for the Kobayakawas! (ha ha ha ha not really he goes mad and dies thanks history)

Noooo no no no no no, you have to get paid. I don't have recipes, it's all just typical nabe stuff that everyone back home could make if they had the perfect ingredients...And you have to get paid, Scarlet! Every day, I'm going to pay you so many of the weird coins they use here, and that's that. How many do you want?

Well... I don't know how to determine a proper wage here... [ She uses her free hand to tuck a stray strand of hair over her ear, then thoughtfully taps her chin. ... And gently steers Hideaki onto the smoother portion of road after he stumbles a bit. You won't fall over while she's around! ] Where I come from, we have a currency called "gil", but when used as wages, one usually pays several hundred to their workers... I wouldn't want to take all of your earnings!

How about, at the end of the day, you give me a small portion of the restaurant's earnings? [ That should be fair enough for the both of them, maybe. ] One-tenth of whatever is left, after budgeting for new inventory and your own savings, should do the trick!
